Sept. 10, 2014 -- BioAir Solutions, a U.S. provider of biological odor and air emission control solutions, has provided a new and advanced green technology for reducing odors and hydrogen sulfide (H2S) emissions from wastewater treatment plant (WWTP) and pumping station air streams to three new projects in Australia.
BioAir has partnered with the Aquatec-Maxcon Group, a provider of water and wastewater technology in Australia, to bring the innovative biological odor control solution to the continent. Aquatec-Maxcon provides a complete range of wastewater treatment services combined with an extensive range of state-of-the-art products, processes and technologies.
BioAir's biotrickling filter technology, which features the EcoBase® structured synthetic media, is at the heart of projects to eliminate odors from the Tooheys brewery in Sydney, New South Wales, where it will handle emissions from the facility's industrial WWTP. BioAir has also supplied its EcoCarb adsorptive media technology to eliminate municipal pump station odors in Redland City, South East Queensland.
BioAir's technology provides superior odor removal performance without the need and expense of chemicals, making it friendly to both the environment and treatment plant budgets. It provides state-of-the-art performance with superior process control over the critical factors of moisture content, pH and nutrients.
The unique uniform characteristics of the EcoBase media have been perfected through groundbreaking research and development work, which allows EcoBase to deliver uniform performance, both across the media bed and throughout the life of the system. It is capable of removing more than 99.9 percent of H2S odors from the airstreams of wastewater facilities and is designed to last over 20 years.
