The Water Technology Acceleration Project (WaterTAP) has announced that Dr. Brent Wootton will join the organization as its new vice president of Policy and Exports.

TORONTO, ONTARIO, Jan. 5, 2015 - The Water Technology Acceleration Project (WaterTAP), a not-for-profit water technology accelerator program for Ontario, Canada, has announced that Dr. Brent Wootton will join the organization as its new vice president of Policy and Exports.

Wootton has taken a temporary leave from his role as director and senior scientist at the Centre for Alternative Wastewater Treatment at Fleming College to serve at WaterTAP.

He will oversee the organization's initiatives to support Ontario water technology companies with their export strategies, manage WaterTAP's government relations and advocacy efforts through its working groups, and define and support its sustainability strategy.

Wootton played a significant role as an advisor to the Ontario Government on the Water Opportunities Act and, until December 2014, he served as WaterTAP's Board Chair.

"Joining the WaterTAP team is an honor," said Wootton. "Ontario's water technology sector is gaining traction at the global level. It's very exciting to be part of the sector's growth and success."

With this move, Dr. Peter Gallant will assume the position of interim board chair for WaterTAP.
