Australian sewage treatment plant to receive major upgrade under DBO contract

Unitywater has officially awarded a Design, Build, Operate, and Maintain contract to TRILITY, an Australian private water utility, for the rehabilitation of the Redcliffe Sewage Treatment Plant in Southeast Queensland.

Jan. 29. 2015 -- Unitywater, an Australian water and sewer authority serving the Moreton Bay, Sunshine Coast and Noosa areas, has officially awarded a Design, Build, Operate, and Maintain contract to TRILITY, an Australian private water utility, for the rehabilitation of the Redcliffe Sewage Treatment Plant in Southeast Queensland.

After a competitive procurement process, Unitywater selected TRILITY to deliver the contract, which includes the operations and maintenance of the plant through to 2022 and the delivery of a design and build phase for rehabilitation of the sewage treatment utility.

The Redcliffe Sewage Treatment Plant services residents and businesses in the Redcliffe Peninsula and surrounding areas. Once rehabilitated, it will provide services for approximately 70,000 people.
