Cal Water signs agreement to provide recycled water to new Apple campus

California Water Service Company has signed an exclusive agreement with the city of Sunnyvale, Santa Clara Valley Water District and Apple Inc., to implement a recycled water project that will provide more than 157,000 gallons per day of treated water to the new Apple 2 Campus.

SAN JOSE, CA, Feb. 18, 2015 -- California Water Service Company (Cal Water), the largest subsidiary of California Water Service Group (NYSE: CWT), recently announced that it has signed an exclusive agreement to partner with the city of Sunnyvale, Santa Clara Valley Water District and Apple Inc.

The partnership will enable Cal Water to implement a recycled water project that will provide more than 157,000 gallons of treated water per day to the new Apple 2 Campus.

Cal Water will invest $1.5 million in the $17.5 million project and will provide water utility services to the premises. New recycled water supplies are expected to be available in the fall of 2016.

Once completed, the new "spaceship-shaped" Apple 2 Campus, located one mile east of the company's existing facility at 1 Infinite Loop in Cupertino, will comprise 2.8 million square feet and accommodate 12,000 employees.
