TREVOSE, PA, April 21, 2015 -- Kraton Performance Polymers Inc., a global producer of engineered polymers, recently honored GE (NYSE: GE) with a Platinum Contractor Safety Award for its dedication to safety during the last 17 years at Kraton's facility in the city of Belpre, Ohio. Kraton's safety awards are given to on-site contractors who meet certain criteria, including total hours worked and the number of personnel at a given facility.

GE provides advanced water technology to Kraton's Belpre plant, where it was recognized for having zero recordable injuries over more than 30,087 hours from January 1998 through October 2014. Kraton, a longtime customer of GE, utilizes a variety of solutions within the water and process technologies portfolio, including products within the chemical, monitoring and equipment business units.

GE’s chemical and monitoring solutions team has been on-site for close to 18 years at the Belpre facility. It treats water for the entire plant including influent clarification, wastewater treatment, plant boilers and cooling towers, process applications, and effluent water clarification. Since 2010, GE's engineered systems team has provided the plant with 750 gallons per minute of high-quality boiler feedwater through the use of ultrafiltration and reverse osmosis under a newly extended build-own-operate contract.
