EDMONTON, ALBERTA, CANADA, June 30, 2015 -- Today, GE (NYSE: GE) announced the opening of a new mobile water service center in Edmonton -- the first of its kind in Alberta -- designed to rapidly decrease response time and cost for customers located in Western Canada and the Northern U.S. The new 15,000-square-foot service center will help local companies and communities in need of an immediate water solution, either for planned maintenance, emergency or disaster recovery.

This new facility will be home to GE's self-contained, trailer-based water treatment technology, enabling rapid deployment of service on a reduced environmental footprint. Providing rapid response in closer proximity to temporary water treatment needs is expected to enhance local water resiliency and emergency preparedness initiatives.

With this new service facility, GE has increased the availability of its temporary water and servicing solutions -- including mobile water equipment for reverse osmosis, ultrafiltration and ion exchange as well as service deionization -- for the region. All mobile water trailers can also incorporate InSight*, GE's data management, remote monitoring and diagnostic platform using the power of the Industrial Internet, to monitor the performance of water and process applications at a customer location.
