July 8, 2015 -- Jeff Peeters, senior product manager with GE Power & Water, was recently appointed as a member of the Water Environment Research Foundation (WERF) and Water Environment Federation's (WEF) LIFT Program Steering Committee.

LIFT is a WERF-WEF program that aims to accelerate the adoption of new and innovative technologies in the wastewater sector by engaging the entire water sector in all phases of the innovation process and to create such a culture where all water partners advance and implement new technology (see "Wastewater Industry Gets a LIFT with Collaborate Innovation Program").

As a member of the LIFT Steering Committee, Peeters will serve as an advisor to provide oversight and guidance to the program and its activities to help ensure it successfully achieves its goals and, ultimately, serves the water industry at a strategic level.

The LIFT Steering Committee consists of eight individuals representing municipal and industrial facility owners, consulting engineers, academia, and industry and technology providers. The committee includes liaisons to federal agencies, WERF Research Council and designated WEF committees.

Peeters is a professional engineer with specific interest and knowledge in the application of biological remediation techniques and membrane technology for water and wastewater treatment challenges. Through his tenure at GE and formerly ZENON Environmental, he has more than 15 years of experience with the development and commercialization of innovative technologies, including ZeeWeed membrane technology.
