SBR systems

The ICEAS® process performs aeration, settling and decanting in a single basin, representing a significant improvement over conventional stop and go flow sequencing batch reactor (SBR) systems. Sanitaire Corporation supplies the ABJ™ ICEAS process which combines continuous inflow with intermittent decant. This allows for minimum basin size and eliminates the need for multiple basins. Filling and decanting simultaneously allows flow to be increased by 25% or more over a conventional SBR. The patented ABJ stainless steel decanter system also serves as an overflow protection device. Computer-controlled operation reduces labor requirements.

Scrubber bed packing

Jaeger Products has introduced a new style of plastic packing, designed for economical gas flow through packed beds. The Jaeger Cascade Mini-Rings® have an aspect ratio (height to diameter) of only 0.3, for efficient gas and liquid contact along with increased performance. The packings are corrosion-resistant and maintain low pressure drop while allowing greater hydraulic capacity. Their unique geometry maximizes turbulent mixing between phases, but gas can flow freely through the packed bed. The packings have no protruding edges or appurtenances, offering a more uniform liquid distribution.

Siphon sludge collector

The Clari-Vac® floating sludge collector has proven to be a reliable, low-maintenance, high-performance siphon sludge collector for over 30 years. The collection headers vacuum solids that have settled and compacted on the tank floor. Sludge then siphons into a separate trough where it is pumped to waste or returned in the activated sludge application. The Clari-Vac boasts lower disposal costs due to heavier solids concentration; greater productivity by faster removal; reduced maintenance because there are no moving underwater parts and energy efficiency because of reduced power consumption.
