Designed and patented by Suiken+Kennedy, an international water works research and development company, the system features a integral restraining gland that allows the fittings to be self-restraining. The fittings are constructed of ductile iron and are available in 4-12 inch models. They are lined and coated with fusion bonded epoxy.

The company's One Bolt fittings can be installed with two wrenches and a hammer. The system eliminates the need for multiple parts for assembly during installation and also doesn't require torquing, beveling of the pipe end or the use of jacks and other power equipment. The single bolt is typically located on the top or side of the fitting, allowing for inspection from the top of the trench.

The fittings are furnished complete with gaskets, glands and the restraint system, all in one package. The system meets or exceeds ANSI/AWWA C153/A21.53; ANSI/AWWA C111/A21.11 and ASTM D 3139.
