Krohne has introduced the Enviromag 2100 magnetic flowmeter, which is targeted at common applications in the water and wastewater industries. The meter’s IFC 100 converter offers an attractive price/performance ratio, including diagnostic capabilities not found in other basic converters. The converter offers precise diagnostics of instrument, installation and application. The unit is available with the converter mounted directly on the flow tube as a compact meter in two versions: for horizontal installations a 45º angled display for optimal viewing or a flat version is ideal for vertical pipes. A wall or pipe mounted version is also available. All versions share a rugged metal enclosure, a large backlit display for excellent readability and a push-button soft-keypad for ease of operation, start-up or configuration. The sensor’s design incorporates a polyurethane or hard rubber liner with field- replaceable SS or HC4 electrodes and boasts a 2000:1 turndown with rapid response time and no obstructions.

Lakewood Instruments has introduced WebNode for use with new and existing 2000 Series Process Controllers. The system allows network or Internet based remote communications from a Windows based PC with use of the current version of Lakewood Remote Windows Software (LRWS). Since the node is its own WEB Server, communications with a controller can be accomplished anywhere there is Internet access. For around $250, users can add a WebNode to any Model 2000 base unit; this includes existing 2000s to convert them from phone lines to Internet-based remote communications. The independent device does not require “fees” to keep it operational and connected.

Rohrback Cosasco Systems (RCS) has introduced the Checkmate™ DL, a new portable handheld instrument that allows the user to read corrosion data from a data logger or Remote Data Collectors (RDCs) and then transfer the data directly to a computer for graphing and corrosion analysis. Like its predecessor, the instrument is compatible with all the corrosion data loggers and remote data collectors in the RCS range of products including all Corrosometer® and Corrater® Remote Data Collector units and Microcor® Data Loggers. For non hazardous areas, a portable PC can configure and retrieve data from data loggers or RDCs. In hazardous areas classified as Class I, Zone 1 or Class I, Zone 2, the portable handheld Checkmate™ instrument is a safer option. Since the transmitter and data logger are explosion proof and intrinsically safe, the entire corrosion monitoring system is deemed safe through each step in the process.
