Hach's Solitax® sc provides on-line particulate and solids measurement in drinking water, wastewater and industrial applications. The sensor applies a unique, color-independent measurement technique that eliminates repetitive calibration. This system's sc100 controller offers full data communication capabilities to help improve process control and reduce treatment costs associated with polymer use, digester volume, and sludge handling. The sensor's dual-beam infrared/scattered light photometric detection technology has demonstrated immunity to color interference and excellent correlation to primary and secondary sludge laboratory analysis. The self-cleaning sensor wipers reduce erroneous values and maintenance caused by biological growth while eliminating the need for extraneous cleaning and air purge systems.

Industrial Test Systems has released two new models of the Arsenic Quick™ mini-kits. The mini-kits, a smaller version of the company's Quick™ kits, are now available in five tests. The new kits, Arsenic Ultra Low Quick™ II (481300-5) with a detection range of 0 to >20 ppb (µg/L) and Arsenic Low Range Quick™ II (481301-5) with a detection range of <0.5 to >50 ppb (µg/L) are ideal for end user testing. All reagents are in powder form and all components needed to accurately detect and measure arsenic are included in a portable ready-to-use kit. The test procedure requires only three reagents that are clearly labeled and color coded to simplify testing. A matching color chart is included with extra large color blocks for quick color matching.

Schneider Electric has unveiled the Telemecanique® brand Nautilus™ type XMLG pressure transmitter for fluid control applications. The pressure transmitter converts applied pressure to an electrical signal that can be used to control and/or monitor a process variable. With pressure ranges from -14.5 to 8700 psi, and analog current output as 4-20 mA or a voltage output from 0-10 V, the transmitters can be used anywhere exact pressure measurement is required. The ceramic sensor technology provides high-impact mechanical performance and the transmitter's design provides verified environmental protection with IP66 and IP67 ratings. Short-circuit and reverse polarity protection are standard features, and the product will not leak in the event the destruction pressure is exceeded.

DuroMaxx™ pipe, available from Contech Construction Products, exceeds existing high density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe performance by offering RPE (Reinforced Polyethylene), an innovative process to introduce steel ribbing in the pipe resulting in higher strength, durability and flow rates in a watertight bell and spigot joint system. The engineered polyethylene/steel composite pipe presents a structured outer wall profile and a smooth internal surface. Suitable for both drainage and detention applications, it is extruded using HDPE which is embedded with vertical strips of steel. The composite structure creates a pipe with high strength and relatively low material mass resulting in significant performance attributes.

Exaktime has developed JobClock.NET, a service that enables subscribers to transfer time and attendance records over the Internet from the field. The service brings added convenience to users of the company's JobClock System who have jobsites located far from the main office. Because the attendance records can now be securely transferred on the Internet, customers no longer have to drive into the office, saving time, transportation and labor costs. Most subscribers simply use a PDA with an Internet connection to transmit time data.
