The MRX920™ Mobile Data Collector - Still More Powerful, Now More Portable

Aug. 1, 2010
Since its introduction, Neptune's MRX920™ Mobile Data Collector has been one of the most powerful mobile data collectors in the industry, with a 72-channel receiver that can process more than 5,000 reads per hour.

Since its introduction, Neptune's MRX920™ Mobile Data Collector has been one of the most powerful mobile data collectors in the industry, with a 72-channel receiver that can process more than 5,000 reads per hour.

Neptune recently showcased its newly redesigned MRX920 at AWWA ACE10 in Chicago, having made some additions, and one major subtraction - the weight of the unit itself. Forty pounds lighter than the previous model, the new MRX920's compact housing weighs less than five pounds. While still one of the most powerful collectors out there, it's now also one of the most portable.

The new MRX920 unit allows wireless connection to an existing laptop, with touch screen interaction to instantly display those R900® RF MIUs already read and those meters waiting to be read. GPS/GIS mapping provides real-time visual feedback on the read status of meters in the system and shows the current location of the meter reading vehicle. When reading is completed, route data is quickly and easily exported wirelessly or via a USB drive.

The MRX920 can be part of a totally mobile automatic meter reading (AMR) system, or integrated into a hybrid system, complementing R900® Gateway fixed network collectors. The MRX920 is ideal for handling residential route data collection where there's a need for faster processing. The MRX920 Mobile Data Collector can process meter readings in extremely dense populations from greater distances - and at a higher success rate than other devices currently available. WW
