LIT UV introduces the new DUV series of UV equipment for water treatment, offering an unmatched degree of usability and reliability. The new LIT DUV series allow customers to fully optimize their application, budget and the configuration of their desired water quality.
The new LIT UV, DUV-N and DUV-A series integrate optimized reactor design, improved lamp technology and independent third party validation of the UV disinfection performance.
Optimized reactor design
As water quality parameters vary for each application, UV system efficiency optimization can be tuned to the specific application. For a UV system, the key parameters defining the efficiency are the UV intensity field and the hydraulic characteristics of the reactor, like velocity and turbulence.
For water qualities with higher UV transparency, the UV intensity field has a deeper penetration through a layer of water and therefore allows for a larger distance between the UV lamps. Visa versa, at lower UV transparency, the UV intensity field is maintained stable by reducing the absolute water layer between the UV lamps. Over a wide range of UV transmittances the new DUV-N series provide efficient disinfection.
Improved technology
The further development of the proven Low Pressure High Output (LPHO) Amalgam Lamp technology results in a number of UV lamp configurations which are tuned for specific UV system capacities, while maintaining the high UV lamp efficiency. The availability of the high Intensity UV lamp technology allows for further optimization of the hydraulic profile of the UV reactor. A higher UV intensity field allows for design optimization with higher velocity and better mixing in the UV reactor.
Independent third party validation
Respecting consumers confidence in reliable safe water deserves the independent validation of the disinfection performance of the UV equipment. Each unit of the DUV-A series has passed successfully the unit specific validation program. The units have been validated against both the German DVGW standard and the Austrian Ö-Norm standard for UV disinfection equipment. The independent validation results have proven the LIT UV design improvements to deliver the expected high efficiency and reliable disinfection.
