Ultrasonic flow meter
The new Portaflow PT400 Transit Time Flow Meter can be used to measure flow of clean liquids from outside a pipe and is suited for troubleshooting, spot checks and balancing flow. Strap-on sensors mount on the outside of plastic or metal pipes and ultrasonic signals are injected through the pipe between the two sensors. Select A or B sensor configuration for a wide range of pipe sizes. Features include a backlit graphics display, 4-20mA output, and a user-friendly operating system with "Quick Start" calibration menu, plus the ability to store calibrations for up to 20 different sites. The meter operates 16 hours on the internal battery and recharges overnight.

Leak locator
The new ADS Mikron hand-held leak locator has an advanced sensor and incorporates low-noise processing electronics to give excellent acoustic performance over a wide frequency range. It features a Minimum Noise Level measurement system and is available with a ground microphone, an acoustic probe, or a combined system with both microphones. The unit detects noise generated from leaks in water pipes by listening at valves or hydrants. The sensitive ground microphone can also detect leak noise that propagates to the ground surface.

Water quality testing
As part of its electrochemistry product line, Hach Company now offers MP Meters that work without probes. These meters allow single-handed operation and the rapid testing of pH, ORP (Oxidation Reduction Potential), conductivity, resistivity, Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) and temperature. MP Meters use integrated sample cups for high throughput testing compared to external probes. Whether in the lab, plant or in a remote field location, measurement requires only two steps: fill the cell cup and push a parameter key to take the reading.

Manhole ventilation
The Allegro Manhole Ventilation Passthru (MVP) is designed to maintain and re-direct air flow with minimal restrictions into manholes, sewers and tanks. The MVP is the first manhole system that combines three components: a low profile air vent, 90° elbow and built-in mounting – all in one unit. Once placed into the manhole, the elbow fits underneath the lower cross bar on the guardrail. The vent is stabilized by placing the manhole cover onto one of the flat channel corners. This unit comes with a, collapsible duct stored in a small storage bag that can be dropped down into the manhole with a quick release of the drawstring.

Trash pumps
The Thompson HT self-priming centrifugal trash pump is ideal for dewatering applications. Measuring cells
Severn Trent Services has added three new measuring cells to the Series KC4000 product line, now offering on-line measurement for low pressure, dusty and wet environments and high temperature applications. The measuring cells are used in conjunction with the MicroChem®2 transmitter/controller to measure residual chlorine (free and total), chlorine dioxide, ozone, iodine and bromine. No pH correction is needed when measuring free chlorine (pH 4 – 7.5), chlorine dioxide, or ozone. Optional pH, conductivity, and/or ORP measurements are also available and can be measured simultaneously with most KC versions.

Mixing system
