More than 12,000 water professionals are expected to attend the American Water Works Association's annual conference and exhibition, planned for June 20-24 in Chicago, IL. With the theme "Show Me the Water," ACE10 will feature a wide range of technical presentations, workshops, educational opportunities and special events addressing every aspect of water research, operations and management.

More than 550 papers representing the work of more than 1,000 water industry experts will be presented during the conference. An additional 14 Sunday workshops will provide hands-on learning in areas such as management strategies and technological training.

More than 500 service providers and manufacturers will showcase the latest products, services and technological advances developed for the water industry. The exposition will bring together under one roof everything from pipes and hydrants to laboratory equipment and membrane filtration systems to engineering services and tank specialists.

The New Product Technology Showcase will set aside an exclusive area of the exhibit hall for products and technologies that represent innovation in water operations and science.

As a special part of this year's event, water commissioners, council members, mayors and other public officials will gather to immerse themselves in the latest water issues and solutions. Public officials will engage in a specialized learning program that includes a three-session, 12-hour certificate program, a Public Officials Breakfast and Caucus, and a networking reception.

"Public awareness of water issues continues to grow, and public officials have to be at the top of their game to deal with the hard decisions related to water management and stewardship," said Michael Bell, chair of AWWA's Public Officials Forum and board member of the Beaufort-Jasper Water and Sewer Authority in South Carolina.
