The city of Palmdale issued the following news release:
The City of Palmdale is offering free copies of a CD entitled "Beautiful High Desert Gardening: Water Wise Landscaping in Palmdale."
Copies are available at Palmdale City Hall, 38300 Sierra Highway Suite A; the Palmdale City Library, 700 E. Palmdale Boulevard; or the City's Development Services Building, 38250 Sierra Highway.
The CD features helpful tips and advice to help residents install beautiful, low maintenance landscaping that is economical. Among the topics covered on the CD are: tours of gardens in the Antelope Valley with clickable links for individual plant information; galleries of front yard, back yard, lawn substitute and hillside landscaping; detailed descriptions for more than 1,000 plants; a virtual encyclopedia of water wise landscape design, irrigation and maintenance tips; watering tips; and much more.

"With the hot weather now upon us, this CD offers some timely tips to help residents reduce their water usage, saving both a precious resource and money," said Palmdale's Communications Manager John Mlynar.
The participating agencies that produced the CD were the City of Palmdale, the Palmdale Water District and Garden Soft. The project was financed through Department of Water Resources Proposition 50 grant funds.
