Portable DO monitoring
Extech Instruments has released the Model DO700 Portable Dissolved Oxygen meter. Part of the company's Waterproof Series of products, the device is a 9-in-1 meter designed for both lab and demanding field applications, including wastewater and environmental monitoring. It measures DO concentration/saturation, pH, mV, conductivity, TDS, salinity, resistivity and temperature. It also features automatic salinity compensation and manual barometric pressure compensation for DO measurements. The meter comes equipped with a three point pH calibration for better accuracy, automatic temperature compensation and a one point conductivity calibration. The DO700's memory stores up to 400 readings with series number, measured value and temperature.

Check valves
The TF-1 Curved Bill Tideflex® Check Valve prevents floodwater from surcharging sewer lines and washing raw sewage into streets and basements. During flood events, the valve prevents floodwater from backflowing into sewage treatment plants. The check valve was specifically designed for sewer system installations. Its curved bill enhances sealing, requires less bottom clearance and can hold greater water weight than the original Tideflex® Check Valve designed in 1984. The valve is constructed entirely of rubber, making it immune to rust, corrosion and weathering. The curved bill offers increased flexibility to better seal around entrapped debris, and the headloss of the valve remains exceptionally low. Sizes are available to 96".

Blowers, exhausters
The TurboTron® Regenerative Full Flow and Half Flow blowers/exhausters from Gardner Denver are specifically designed to provide continuous flow and pulse-free air suitable for wastewater treatment aeration systems. The regenerative blowers are packaged in various pre-engineered "TurboPak" systems and are available as belt drive, direct drive, overhung and even VFD configurations. The Full Flow series offers airflow to 900 cfm and pressure to 13 psig. The Half Flow series offers airflow to 450 cfm and pressure to 13 psig.

Spectrometer
The NIRQuest Spectrometer from Ocean Optics is used for environmental monitoring and contaminant detection in wastewater and soil. The compact, multi-interface spectrometer is available in versions for coverage from 900-1700 nm, 900-2050 nm and 900-2500 nm. It provides a less costly alternative to FT-IR and comparable technologies currently used in environmental monitoring. The device has a modular design and uses an Indium Gallium Arsenide (InGaAs)-array detector in a compact optical bench, thermoelectric cooler and low-noise electronics. A high gain mode option improves system sensitivity for low light-level and low-concentration measurements.

Sealing system
Pipeline Seal & Insulator has introduced the new Boa-Tape™ infiltration sealing tape. Requiring no torch and no primer, the pressure sensitive woven polypropylene tape seals concrete, steel and polyethylene structures. Designed to seal joints against ground water infiltration, the 50 mil elastomeric adhesive in combination with 15 mils of a woven polypropylene makes this tape extra sticky for extra grip. For re-hab, where grout has failed, and new construction, the tape sealing system can also be applied to pipe structures to control corrosion.

Tank monitoring
