Conference Program

The conference program will include a number of educational opportunities for water industry professionals. In ‘Making AMI Work for You’, presenters will discuss the powerful AMI technology that’s being adopted by more and more water operations, including examples of how AMI can benefit utilities by increasing stakeholder value.

Additional water sessions include: Leveraging SCADA for Water; Using Real-Time Information to Make Real-Time Decisions; Emerging Technology Trends in Water; and a panel discussion focusing on water utility revenue recovery and compliance.

Utility University

DistribuTECH 2009 will once again offer pre-conference educational courses as part of its Utility University program. Held in a classroom environment, Utility University courses are relevant, topical, issue-concentrated classes taught by recognized experts in their respective fields. AMI Planning & Strategy Essentials for Energy & Water Utilities, taking place Feb. 2, is a two-part course that will teach attendees to successfully select, acquire, and deploy AMI as a foundation for a future smart grid. This course provides complete familiarity with effective AMI planning, from early strategy through business case and corporate approval of the AMI project, including anticipation of future developments with a strategy that will “get it right” the first time.

Breakfast Roundtables

DistribuTECH will once again feature its popular Breakfast Roundtables on Feb. 4. These roundtable discussions provide an opportunity to network with peers and meet industry experts. Roundtables with specific industry topics will be moderated by professionals in each field. An informal format makes the Breakfast Roundtables a great way to share information and learn about specific industry topics. For water professionals, AMR Trends in the Water Industry will provide a forum for discussing the latest AMR technologies, trends and projects in the water industry, as well as the benefits and challenges associated with adopting AMR.

Keynote Presentation

On Tuesday, Feb. 3, 2009, Frank Abagnale, the world’s foremost authority on fraud and identity theft, will deliver the keynote address at DistribuTECH 2009.
