Lexington, KY, May 14, 2019 – PowerTech Water, a developer of disruptive cleantech water treatment technologies, participated in the recently held Battery Council International 2019 Convention & Power Mart Expo, Booth #51, where it showcased its revolutionary CapCo™ Capacitive Coagulation™ technology designed expressly to remove heavy metals from water. The event, whose Power Mart Expo offers the lead battery industry's most complete display of new technology, products, and services, took place in New Orleans, Louisiana.
In addition, Cameron Lippert, Ph.D., the company’s CEO, and co-founder, presented a talk entitled “Re-engineering Waste Water Treatment for Metals Removal through Capacitive Coagulation: A Sludge-free Approach” during the program.
CapCo is an electrochemical filter that removes metals from water with a patent-pending carbon electrode technology that actively attracts, immobilizes and filters metals with 99% selectivity for these substances. CapCo has been proved to reduce OpEx by as much as 90%, as the technology has low energy requirements, creates no sludge byproduct and eliminates the need for chemicals. In addition, its small footprint can be quickly and easily scaled up to meet higher capacity requirements.
