Super-fine screen

The OR-TEC Blue Whale Micro Bar Screen effectively screens to 2.0 mm to remove approximately three times the volume of rags, wipes, hair and other stringy material in wastewater, thereby eliminating downstream matting. It is self-cleaning, requires zero wash water or brushes and is guaranteed not to blind. The Micro Bar Screen uses a parallel array of wedge-sectioned bars (not wedge-wire) with even spaces to form the screen face. Wedge-sectioned screen bars have only 2 contact points on which material can block, as the path from the screen face to the back of the screen is gradually enlarged.

Ceramic hollow fiber membrane

i2m has extended its ceramic hollow fiber membrane portfolio, CERA~DUR, to suit specific filtration needs covering both ultrafiltration and microfiltration. With pore sizes including 30 nm, 80 nm, 100 nm and 130 nm, these ceramic UF/MF membranes deliver a stable flux rate of 50-500 LMH. CERA~DUR can handle up to 100,000 ppm TSS, 200,000 ppm COD and 5,000 ppm oil while delivering high-quality permeate water for disposal/reuse with <1 ppm TSS, <500 ppm COD and <5 ppm oil. These ceramic hollow fiber membranes are used to filter large volumes of industrial water and wastewater utilizing minimal space and energy.

Closed circuit reverse osmosis module

LANXESS has announced a significant addition to its LewaPlus® software suite of reverse osmosis (RO) and ion exchange (IX) system dimensioning capabilities. The new module provides system modeling with Desalitech’s Closed Circuit Reverse Osmosis (CCRO) technology and enables the dimensioning of RO systems using the latest available water treatment technology, helping system designers bring their water treatment footprint closer to zero liquid discharge (ZLD) or minimum liquid discharge (MLD) goals. The system operates in two alternating modes: Closed Circuit (CC) mode at 100% recovery and Plug Flow (PF), or flushing mode, at 10 to 50% recovery.

Woven filter media

GKD-USA’s Optimized Dutch Weave (ODW) meshes bring water and wastewater filtration facilities a better throughput rate, better retention rate and longer filter media life. The special weave of the ODW mesh creates a slot-shaped pore geometry on the mesh surface, where the openings are smaller than the pores inside the mesh. Particles above the specified separation limit stay on the mesh surface, and smaller particles pass easily through the mesh interior without causing clogging. Other benefits include: high permeability, long-term process reliability, considerably lower resistance than conventional meshes, and lower pump power options for reduced energy consumption and carbon footprint impact.

Multi-barrier membrane system

The AquaMB Process® utilizes true batch biological treatment with cloth media filtration and external ultrafiltration membranes to provide enhanced biological nutrient removal, and virus and bacteria removal. The system offers flexibility and easily adapts to changing influent characteristics and future effluent objectives.

Fine screening technology

Hydro International’s Hydro MicroScreen™ rotating belt screen offers wastewater treatment plants an advanced and versatile alternative to a primary clarifier at a fraction of the footprint, power use and installation costs. It effectively separates solids from influent wastewater using 10% of the footprint of a conventional primary clarifier and 20% of the power. It also achieves between 50 and 60% Total Suspended Solids (TSS) removal and offers operators the versatility to improve their downstream process efficiency.
