Calif. DWR, SWRCB set Prop. 50 grant program public meeting

SACRAMENTO, CA, Sept. 2, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) and the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) have scheduled a Sept. 23 public meeting to present preliminary award recommendations for the Proposition 50, Chapter 8 Integrated Regional Water Management (IRWM) -- Planning Grant Program.

Slated for 10 a.m., the meeting will be held in the second floor Byron Sher Auditorium at the California Environmental Protection Building, 1001 "I" Street, Sacramento, CA 95814.

This public meeting will be web broadcast for Internet access at www.calepa.ca.gov/broadcast. During the broadcast listeners may e-mail comments or questions to: [email protected].

At 8:30 a.m., DWR and SWRCB staff will be available to answer questions about the review and evaluation process, including how each applicant's score was determined. This meeting will be held in a room adjacent to the Auditorium. In addition, applicants will be given an opportunity to comment on their evaluation and score at the public meeting.

Applicants may also submit their comments in writing. Those comments must be received by 5:00 p.m. on Sept. 30, 2005. Please e-mail to Tracie Billington at [email protected].

The Department of Water Resources operates and maintains the State Water Project, provides dam safety and flood control and inspection services, assists local water districts in water management and water conservation planning, and plans for future statewide water needs.
