Setting New Standards for Wastewater Pumping

Xylem, which spun off from ITT Corp. last year, has a long and prestigious history in wastewater pumping. At IFAT Entsorga, Xylem will feature its recently launched system called Flygt Experior, which sets a new standard for exceptional wastewater pumping. By combining advances in its state-of-the-art hydraulics, premium efficiency motors and intelligent controls in a unique concept, Experior offers up to 50% energy savings compared to conventional wastewater pumps. The first Experior pumping systems will be delivered to customers later this year.

Among other products in its treatment portfolio, Xylem will feature its newest Wedeco ultraviolet (UV) and ozone disinfection solutions, including the Wedeco Spektron UV disinfection product range launched last year. The upgrades to this closed vessel UV reactor are aimed at the municipal drinking water market for flows of a few cubic meters per hour (m³/h) to more than 1,000 m³/h. All Spektron units are being rolled out as they earn DVGW/ ÖNORM certification, and CE and UL registration.

In addition, a range of units are being validated under full compliance to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Ultraviolet Disinfection Guidance Manual (UVDGM 2006). The entire series is expected to be fully validated by the middle of this year. New products from Xylem's recently acquired Godwin brand will also be featured within its IFAT booth. The Godwin NC series is a new range of non-clog pumps featuring Flygt N-technology that combines the expertise of Xylem's leading dewatering brands, Flygt and Godwin.

Mike Kuchenbrod, president of Xylem's Water Solutions business, said: "Now that Godwin is part of Xylem, we can share technologies between proven product brands to deliver highly efficient dewatering pumps to our customers."

Surrounding Xylem's advanced technology offer is a world-class network of engineering and service professionals capable of helping customers solve difficult water challenges and optimize operations. As part of its commitment to service, the company will unveil Xylem TotalCare during IFAT.

Xylem TotalCare is a comprehensive, integrated portfolio of services – from energy audits to supervisory services to maintenance contracts – that ensures that the customer's operations are running at its best. The portfolio of services comes backed by deep systems knowledge and expertise in water and wastewater applications.

Tomas Brannemo, head of Xylem's aftermarket and service business, added: "When you work with Xylem TotalCare services, you get secure, optimal operations that come only with broad engineering expertise in water and wastewater."
