OMAN, AUG 9, 2018 -- Oman Power and Water Procurement Company (OPWP) has floated Request for Qualification (RFQ) tender for developing two Independent Water Projects (IWP) in Al Batinah region.
Barka V IWP would have a capacity of 100,000 cubic meters per day (m3/day) while North Al Batinah IWP would have a capacity of 150,000 m3/day, the company said in a public notice.
Both IWPs would replace capacities expiring in 2022, according to OPWP's 7-year statement 2018-2024. The statement, which was issued in May, said Barka V IWP will replace Barka IWPP and North Al Batinah IWP will replace Sohar IWPP, noting that the new IWPs would be procured only if initial negotiations to extend the agreements with existing owners do not fructify.
