California American Water acquires Adams Ranch Mutual Water Company

As of March 10, California American Water owns and operates the water systems

CORONADO, Calif., March 10, 2016 -- California American Water announced it has closed on the acquisition of Adams Ranch Mutual Water Company. The transaction was approved by the California Public Utilities Commission on February 25, 2016. California American Water began operating the water system on March 10, 2016.

The water system was purchased for $2.4 million and will add approximately 175 new service connections to California American Water’s customer base in the Los Angeles County area. California American Water currently supplies water service to about 30,000 homes and businesses in Los Angeles County and serves about 110,000 other customers throughout the State.

Adams Ranch Mutual Water Company customers are now being served by California American Water’s team of state certified water treatment and distribution operators, which are experts in their fields.
