FRESNO, CA, JULY 25, 2016 -- The City of Fresno has placed its water chief on administrative leave, following reports of failures to report water quality issues.
In a statement released by the city, officials said, "In light of evidence regarding discrepancies in reporting water issues, the chief of water operations for the City of Fresno has been placed on administrative leave pending the completion of a full investigation.
The City’s investigation will also review protocols and include interviews with present and past employees in the interest of determining where the system of notification broke down, both internally and externally."
The Fresno Bee is reporting the identity of the official as Kenneth Heard, a 16-year vetran of the water division of the Public Utilities Department.
