Dec. 20, 2000 — Ofwat today published the information collected from the water companies in their 1999-2000 annual returns. This includes information from the quality regulators, the Drinking Water Inspectorate and the Environment Agency.
All the water companies in England and Wales make a return each year to Ofwat setting out their services to customers, their capital and operating expenditure figures and their performance during the last year.
The 2000 June Returns are now available on CD-ROM for purchase. They can be inspected at the Ofwat Library in Birmingham. To make an appointment call 0121 625 1361. The library is open from 9.30am to 4.30pm, Monday to Friday.
The information in the June Return is divided into key outputs; non-financial measures; the regulatory accounts; and financial measures. The CD-ROM also contains information provided by the Environment Agency and Drinking Water Inspectorate on companies' performance in meeting their environmental obligations.
