DENVER, Colo., Dec. 4, 2003 -- The American Water Works Association (AWWA) announced several new events that will be unveiled at its next Annual Conference and Exposition (ACE) to be held June 13-17, 2004 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.

A major event for total water management, AWWA's five-day conference will feature a new technology showcase exhibiting the latest and greatest technology in one area. Also new this year, ACE is hosting the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Buyer Program (IBP) which encourages the export of US-made products by matching international buyers with domestic firms.

AWWA has invited international attendees from all around the world. The Water Industry Luncheon will feature guest speaker Lou Holtz, the only coach in NCAA history to lead six different programs to bowl games. Additionally, over 500 exhibitors will demonstrate the latest innovations and technology in the drinking water profession.

"The conference theme 'One World One Water' truly represents the global importance of safe drinking water," said Jack Hoffbuhr, executive director of AWWA. "The collective knowledge and experience found at this conference provides water professionals with the information and tools needed to meet new challenges and continue to protect public health and effectively manage our priceless water resources."

Other key conference events include the H2Open Forum discussing the link between the electricity and water industry, as well as the world-renown pipe tapping contest. Also, ACE will feature more than 70 technical sessions and 13 pre-conference workshops focusing on pressing issues such as infrastructure management, security, benchmarking, and legislative and regulatory challenges.
