Phoenix, Ariz., July 17, 2003 -- William D. Petroutson, R.G., has joined AMEC's Earth & Environmental office in Phoenix as the Senior Hydrogeologist. Petroutson brings AMEC's clients in the Southwest more than 23 years of experience in geologic and water resource investigations.
Petroutson specializes in numerical and analytical computer modeling to evaluate and predict groundwater flow and the movement of plumes of contaminants. He also has conducted numerous field investigations in support of aquifer protection permits and Arizona "Superfund" groundwater investigations. Additionally, he has overseen all phases of water well drilling and design.
Petroutson is the author or co-author of more than 30 technical and professional reports, a member of the National Ground Water Association and the Vice President of a chapter of the Arizona Hydrological Society. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Geology (Environmental Emphasis) from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and a Master's Degree in Geology from Northern Arizona University. He comes to AMEC from URS Corp. in Tucson, where he served as Project Hydrogeologist and Remedial Investigation Project Manager.
