Water supply in Barstow contaminated with perchlorate
BARSTOW, CA, Nov. 20, 2010 -- The Golden State Water Co. was notified late last week that water samples indicated elevated levels of perchlorate in the city of Barstow's water supply.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger has declared a state of emergency. The announcement affects about 40,000 people in the area.
