FORT WASHINGTON, PA, June 13, 2007 -- Severn Trent De Nora, Sugar Land, Texas, has received the EC Type Certification for the OMNIPURE™ and MARINER OMNIPURE® product lines of sewage treatment systems, signifying that these systems are in compliance with standards under the requirements of the Marine Equipment Directive (MED) 96/98/EC, as amended by directive 2002/75/EC. This certification makes OMNIPURE and MARINER OMNIPURE sewage treatment systems available for use by countries within the European Union (EU). The Bureau Veritas Marine Division, a worldwide quality assurance provider, managed the certification process.

According to Brian Riedel, OMNIPURE global sales manager of Severn Trent De Nora, "The certification further strengthens Severn Trent De Nora's worldwide presence as a globally recognized water treatment company for all marine and offshore applications. The EC Type Certification is the latest notified body certification from a Notified Body that we have been awarded for the OMNIPURE and MARINER OMNIPURE sewage treatment product lines. By applying the Marine Equipment Directive's 'Wheelmark' to the equipment going to EU countries, entrance and acceptance into the receiving country is eased."

OMNIPURE product line manager, Dana Casbeer, added, "By achieving this MED certification for the entire product line, we eliminate many third party inspection duties normally seen by Severn Trent De Nora. The Bureau Veritas certification mark on the equipment informs EU countries that they now have another alternative for marine sanitation equipment from a global, environmentally conscious provider."
