PHILADELPHIA, PA, DEC, 7, 2017 --PeroxyChem, a global leader in peroxygen chemistries, plans to construct a new peracetic acid (PAA) production facility in Memphis, Tenn. Construction willl begin shortly. A formal groundbreaking was held on December 6 at the Maynard C. Stiles Wastewater Treatment Plant.
After extensive research and testing, the City of Memphis determined PAA the safest and most efficient disinfection method for the city's wastewater. PeroxyChem won a competitive bid to provide the city's PAA locally, eliminating the need for costly shipping.
"PeroxyChem proudly produces the highest quality peroxygen chemistries, including PAA for wastewater treatment," said Bruce Lerner, PeroxyChem CEO. "We are thrilled by this incredible opportunity to help the City of Memphis improve their environmental impact in a cost-efficient way for taxpayers."
"We appreciate PeroxyChem's willingness to help us create a wastewater treatment program in keeping with the entrepreneurial, economically focused and creative spirit of our city," said Robert Knecht, public works director for the City of Memphis. "Sourcing PAA locally from PeroxyChem's new Memphis facility will be an economic and environmental win for our city."
The new Memphis facility will add to PeroxyChem's expanding portfolio of peroxygen chemistry manufacturing.
