SANTA BARBARA, CA, MAY 9, 2017 -- Areas in Santa Barbara will start getting water from a reactivated desalination plant this month.
Although there is no exact date, City officials announced the Charles E. Meyer Desalination Plant will start distributing water to parts of Santa Barbara this month.
Once up and running, the plant will produce close to 3 million gallons of water per day, about 30% of the city's water.
