No-contact coupling
Ford Meter Box’s No-Contact Lead-Pak Coupling (patent pending) is designed for connecting existing lead plumbing lines to other service line materials. The coupling prevents direct contact of the lead plumbing line with other metallic water system components. This design mitigates the possibility of galvanic corrosion.
The new Series 5K DIN valve connector from Canfield Connector provides snug and secure pin contacts on solenoid spades. The 5K runs one wire rather than two from the MCCR device to the control box, which reduces moisture intrusion in the box and saves on labor costs. It can be manufactured in a range of plastic housing materials for compatibility with high temperatures and various chemical applications. In addition, the 5K has a rugged “straight-line” interface/cord configuration that is versatile for various applications including installation in many limited-space situations.
Experience a leak-free joint and a quick installation with A.Y. McDonald’s new Fast Connect Fitting, which comes in sizes 3/4”, 3/4”x1”, and 1”. Behaving like a standard three-part coupling but with one-third the amount of rotations required, the secret lies within the assembly itself and its dual-thread design. Instead of containing one brass body, two brass nuts, and two compression gasket assemblies, the Fast Connect Fitting coupling consists of just two brass components, two compression gasket assemblies, and one plastic spacer.
Mueller Co. recently introduced a new H-306HP fabricated steel tapping sleeve. Designed for hot tapping ductile iron pipe and thick-wall C900 plastic pipe, the H-306HP is made from A36 fabricated steel and meets the requirements of AWWA C223. It features an integral bolt flange, Rilsan nylon coating, working pressures up to 300 psi, and is available in sizes from 4” to 16”. This economical tapping sleeve is designed for use with Mueller CL-12, CL36, and Mega-Lite drilling machines in less corrosive soil environments.
SIGMA’s One-Lok Series SLDE wedge action restrainer gland for 54-, 60-, and 64-inch ductile iron pipes can serve as a way to reround large diameter pipes in the field. Larger ductile iron pipes are susceptible to shift in transit and handling, often requiring the use of hydraulic jacks on job sites to restore full roundness and specificity prior to installation. The product provides additional areas to the gland body that contain two sets of three jacking bolts positioned 180 degrees apart.
Hobas Pipe’s centrifugally cast, fiberglass-reinforced, polymer mortar (CCFRPM) pipe is inherently corrosion resistant and lasts 100 years or more. Leak-free, push-together joints reduce installation time and costs. It is widely used in corrosive environments such as industrial effluents, contaminated drainage and foul air as well as cooling and circulating water lines. It is also approved for potable water. Features include: light weight, high strength, ease of installation, leak-free push-together joints and adaptability to a variety of installation methods including open cut, sliplining, jacking, microtunneling, two-pass tunnel, casing carrier and above ground. Non-pressure and pressure classes are manufactured in diameters from 18 to 126 inches.
