PITTSBURGH, Penn., Nov. 14, 2002 -- Underground Solutions Inc. announced that it has agreed to extend its exclusive rights to the Duraliner Structural Water Line Renewal Technology to include the entire world excluding Canada.
Hank St. Onge, the President of Duratron International, Inc., the developer of the Duraliner technology stated, "We are delighted with the success that Underground Solutions has achieved to date in introducing Duraliner to the water rehabilitation market throughout the United States. We are looking forward to UGSI duplicating their tremendous success on an international basis."
Duraliner is a unique patented process for pipeline renewal resulting in a "stand alone" structural lining capable of handling internal minimum operating pressures of 150 psi with a 3.2 safety factor. Duraliner conforms to NSF 61 Standards for Drinking Water Components/Health Effects. In addition, Duraliner provides an equivalent design-life of new PVC pipelines (75 years) thus qualifying the rehabilitated pipelines to be capitalized as new assets under the rules of GASB Statement 34.
Mark Smith, UGSI's president and CEO stated, "We've received a great deal of interest in Duraliner from numerous countries around the world."
On Tuesday, November 12th, a technical paper in which the merits of Duraliner were discussed entitled "Rehabilitation of Pressure Pipes" was presented by Dr. John Heavens of J-D Associates of the United Kingdom at the Trenchless Asia 2002 Conference held at the Hong Kong International Trade & Exhibition Centre, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
