PITTSBURGH, Pa., Sept. 16, 2002 -- Underground Solutions Inc. announced recently that it is beginning a new Duraliner project in St. Clairsville, Ohio. The company will be renewing a 3800 lf section of a deteriorated force main.
The project will begin in late September and be completed in October of this year.
Duraliner is a unique patented process for pipeline renewal resulting in a "stand alone" structural lining capable of handling internal minimum operating pressures of 150 psi with a 3.2 safety factor. Duraliner conforms to NSF 61 Standards for Drinking Water Components/Health Effects.
In addition, Duraliner provides an equivalent design-life of new PVC pipelines (75 years) thus qualifying the rehabilitated pipelines to be capitalized as new assets under the rules of GASB Statement 34.
Mark Smith, UGSI's president and CEO stated, "The interest in Duraliner as an economical and convenient solution to rehabilitating underground water lines and force mains is growing throughout the country. Our marketing program is working very well and we are achieving our goals to have Duraliner specified as the "gold-standard" when engineers and water providers have a need for a structural pressure liner."
