OXFORD, Ala., Nov. 15, 2000—Ultraliner, Inc. announced that it has reached a settlement agreement with Insituform, Inc. to resolve patent litigation begun by Insituform in 1999.
The settlement allows Ultraliner to continue the manufacture, sale and installation of its unique and proprietary trenchless pipeline rehabilitation product, marketed under the Ultraliner PVC Alloy Pipeliner name.
The settlement agreement does not require any changes in the composition of Ultraliner's PVC Alloy Pipeliner products complying with ASTM F-1504 and ASTM F-1871 in the current 4 to 24 inch sizes or future larger sizes.
Although the specific terms of the settlement agreement remain confidential, Ultraliner will manufacture and distribute the same composition material, in sizes 4 to 12 inches, that is flattened to some degree (but not folded to any extent so that the two surfaces of the flattened liner will be manufactured without creating marked depressions or projections) prior to being wound onto a reel. Pipeliner above 12 inches in diameter will continue to be manufactured in the "H" shape.
Shipments of product meeting these requirements began in October and have been installed by our 18 licensed installers throughout the United States on municipal, DOT, military and private projects. The continued growth of Ultraliner, a closely held private company, is assured by the settlement reached with Insituform.
