PORTLAND, Ore., Dec. 21, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Northwest Pipe Company (Nasdaq:NWPX) reported today that it has received a letter of intent from Westra Construction Corp. to supply approximately $7.0 million of steel pipe for a major water supply pipeline in the Tampa, Florida area.
The company will furnish over 31,000 feet of 72 inch custom designed and fabricated water transmission pipe for the South Central Intertie Pipeline Contract 1. The pipe will be fabricated beginning in April, 2001 and should be completed by the 2nd quarter of 2002.
Northwest Pipe Company manufactures welded steel pipe in two business segments. Its Water Transmission Group is a leading supplier of large diameter, high pressure steel pipe products that are used primarily for the transmission of drinking water in the United States and Canada.
