PITTSBURGH, Aug. 14, 2003 -- Underground Solutions, Inc.'s Duraliner Water Line Replacement System has been selected to rehabilitate a deteriorated 20" ductile iron water line on the Dover Air Force Base in Delaware.
Hopkins Construction, Inc. of Bridgeville, Delaware will be the contractor for the general construction portion of the work and Underground Solutions Services Group, Inc. will be performing the Duraliner portion of the contract.
The Dover Air Force Base project is scheduled to be completed in the month of August.
Duraliner is a unique patented process for pipeline renewal resulting in a "stand alone" structural lining capable of handling internal minimum operating pressures of 150 psi with a 3.2 safety factor. Duraliner conforms to NSF 61 Standards for Drinking Water Components/Health Effects. In addition, Duraliner provides an equivalent design-life of new PVC pipelines (75 to 100 years) thus qualifying the rehabilitated pipe lines to be capitalized as new assets under the rules of GASB Statement 34.
