• Daily water usage information now available for customers
KANSAS CITY, MO, July 31, 2008 -- "The WAVE" automatic meter reading (AMR) project in Kansas City is progressing on schedule. More than 56,000 meters are now being read by "the WAVE" system, including more than 1,000 large commercial and wholesale accounts. This is approximately 1/3 of all accounts.
Additionally, 100 percent of the citywide Data Collector Unit (DCU) network has been installed. DCUs, which collect the meter reads and transmit them to WSD's billing system, are primarily located on city-owned light poles and siren towers.
Customers who have had "the WAVE" automatic meter reading" system installed can now view their water usage online. To view your water usage online, visit our website at www.kcmo.org/water and click on "Account Information." New users must register and create a user name and password. You must have your account number, which is located on the front of your water bill to register.
In addition to water usage, bill payment options and past bill information is available through our online system.
"The WAVE" will be installed for all customers by 2010.
