VANCOUVER, WA, Feb. 3, 2009 -- Northwest Pipe Company has been named as the supplier to the South-North Intertie Pipeline, owned by Antelope Valley-East Kern Water Agency, to furnish approximately 81,000 feet of 48 inch diameter welded steel pipe and custom engineered fittings by S.J. Louis Construction of Mansfield, Texas. The value of the pipe order is approximately $9.5 million. The pipe will be manufactured at the Adelanto, California facility of Northwest Pipe Company. Delivery will start in early third quarter 2009 and be completed by the end of the year.

Northwest Pipe Company manufactures welded steel pipe and other products in two business groups. Its Water Transmission Group is the leading supplier of large diameter, high-pressure steel pipe products that are used primarily for water infrastructure in North America. Its Tubular Products Group manufactures smaller diameter steel pipe for a wide range of applications including construction, agricultural, energy, traffic and other commercial and industrial uses.
