FORT WORTH, TX, Nov. 17, 2010 -- The Tarrant Regional Water District has approved a financing agreement with the city of Dallas on a $1.6 billion pipeline to bring water to the Dallas-Fort Worth area from East Texas.

Construction of the 149-mile pipeline could begin by 2013 and is expected to serve as a model for cooperation on future projects, such as bringing water from Oklahoma, northeast or the Louisiana border.
