Biwater awarded Malaysian project

The joint venture contractors Gamuda-KEDB awarded the UK firm Biwater the second stage of the US$ 80-million Sungai Selangor Water Supply Scheme (Phase 3) at Bukit Badong.

The joint venture contractors Gamuda-KEDB awarded the UK firm Biwater the second stage of the US$ 80-million Sungai Selangor Water Supply Scheme (Phase 3) at Bukit Badong. The first stage of the project was commissioned earlier in the year. Together, the two stages will produce more than 800 million litres of treated water every day to meet the growing demand of the Klang Valley region.

The project involves the design, supply, installation and commissioning of all the electro-mechanical equipment and construction of all civil process structures. Biwater is working in joint venture with local company Rohas-Euco Communi-cations Sdn Bhd (REI).
