Black & Veatch appoints new chief human resources officer

Black & Veatch Corp., a global engineering, consulting and construction company, announced the appointment of Shirley Gaufin as Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President of Human Resources.


Kansas City, Mo., March 15, 2002 -- Black & Veatch Corp., a global engineering, consulting and construction company, announced the appointment of Shirley Gaufin as Chief Human Resources Officer and Executive Vice President of Human Resources.

Gaufin brings to Black & Veatch more than 20 years of human resources experience in executive roles at other large engineering firms. In her new role, Gaufin will be responsible for the Black & Veatch's human capital issues, including global integration of human resources policies and functions and enhancing the performance culture throughout the Company's divisions and subsidiaries.

Gaufin most recently served as Vice President of Global Staffing and Resource Development with the Washington Group. She began her career at Bechtel and advanced to position of Vice President of Global Human Resources. She also served as Vice President of Human Resources at Parsons Corporation and Senior Vice President of Human Resources at Raytheon Engineers & Constructors after leaving Bechtel.
