WILMINGTON, NC -- J. Phil Perry has been named senior regional sales engineer in the southeastern region of CONTECH Construction Products Inc., Doug Todd, regional vice president, has announced.
His territory will cover eastern North Carolina, and he will be based in Wilmington.
Perry joined CONTECH in 1971 as a sales engineer trainee at CONTECH's Middletown, Ohio headquarters. He was transferred to the Baltimore sales office and in 1973 was named sales engineer in the southeastern region. In 1981 he was promoted to regional sales engineer. In 1987 he returned to Middletown headquarters as supervisor of corrugated metal pipe.
Perry holds a bachelor's degree in engineering operations from North Carolina State University, graduating in 1971. He is a member of the Society of Professional Engineers, the National Association of Corrosion Engineers, and is a registered professional engineer. He serves as chairman of the ASTM A05.17 subcommittee on corrugated steel pipe and secretary of the B07.08 corrugated aluminum pipe subcommittee.
He is involved with advising the FHWA Federal Lands Highway and the COE in Washington, DC. In addition, he is also actively involved with advising AASHTO TAC members of the Committee on Flexible Pipe as well as state departments of transportation across the country.
