The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) and the National Corrugated Steel Pipe Association (NCSPA) have completed two tools to aid designers in the use of Corrugated Steel Pipe (CSP) for modern sewer design applications.

WASHINGTON, Oct 18, 2000 (PRNewswire via COMTEX) — The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) and the National Corrugated Steel Pipe Association (NCSPA) have completed two tools to aid designers in the use of Corrugated Steel Pipe (CSP) for modern sewer design applications.

The new CSP Design Software is an easy-to-use, time-saving design CD that performs structural design, computes fill height tables, and determines the service life for various CSP coating systems. The CD is adaptable for both Windows and Mac applications.

The "Modern Sewer Design Handbook" is the primary resource for technical information on the design, installation and maintenance of CSP storm sewers. The just-released fourth edition includes both S.I. units (metric) and traditional U.S. imperial units. Significant updates have also been made to reflect the revised NCSPA Durability Guidelines.

"The revised 'Modern Sewer Design Handbook' and its companion software are cost-effective tools that will save designers time and increase their productivity by designing in steel, said Camille Rubeiz, P.E., AISI's director of transportation and infrastructure. "These Tools will show designers that Corrugated Steel Pipe is the material of choice for storm sewer applications because of its durability, long life cycle, and cost-effectiveness."

The handbook and software are available for ordering by calling USA Fulfillment at 1-800-277-3850. The "Modern Sewer Design Handbook" is available ($30, plus shipping/handling) as well as the "CSP Durability Guide" (publication is free, but there is a charge for shipping/handling).

The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI) is a non-profit association of North American companies engaged in the iron and steel industry. The Institute comprises 45 producer members companies, including integrated and electric furnace steelmakers, and 158 associate and affiliate members who are suppliers to, or customers of the steel industry.
