March 14, 2003 -- WWEMA will host its 30th Washington Forum on May 7-9 at the Sofitel Lafayette Square in Washington, D.C. The theme of this year's event is: It is the Best of Times...It is the Worst of Times...The State of the Water and Wastewater Industry.
Ken Simonson, chief economist for the Associated General Contractors of America, will give a special presentation on "The Economic and Political Outlook for Water and Wastewater Construction: Flush Times Ahead or Drying Up?"
He will point his divining rod at the economy to say what lies ahead for construction markets involving water. Ken will pump the audience full of information about the economy and the political climate for infrastructure funding, in a talk that is informative, yet laced with "dry" humor.
Other presenters from Congress, the Administration, regulatory agencies, international finance institutions, municipal utilities and corporate America will discuss the drivers that will impact demand for water and wastewater products and services in 2003 and beyond.
WWEMA's standing committees and Board of Directors will also meet during the Washington Forum.
