Atlanta, Ga., April 8, 2003 -- PBS&J announces the acquisition of Welker & Associates, a 70-member engineering firm based in Marietta, Georgia.
Founded in 1945, Welker & Associates provides study, design, survey, and construction-related consulting services primarily in the areas of water, wastewater, and stormwater management. The firm also offers complementary services supporting transportation, natural gas, and site development projects.

With the April 1 acquisition by PBS&J, Welker & Associates becomes a division of PBS&J's East Region Environmental technical service line with the firm's president, Jim Belk, P.E. serving as PBS&J vice president and division manager. Welker & Associates personnel and will remain in its offices at 445 Manget Street, Marietta, Georgia 30060.
