URS boosts water, wastewater expertise with acquisition

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, Apr. 15, 2011 -- Engineering firm URS Corporation has acquired BP Barber, a privately held civil engineering firm specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure.

BP Barber, headquartered in Columbia, South Carolina, has a staff of about 150 with offices in three states. The company primarily serves the water/wastewater market but also provides environmental, urban development, surveying and geographic information system services.

The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
