LYNBROOK, NY, July 18, 2008 -- Long Island American Water announced a significant water main replacement and installation project in the Villages of Lawrence and Woodsburgh. The project strives to increase water pressure for residents and flows for firefighting while improving service reliability. The combined cost of the company's capital improvements is approximately $3 million.

"We are confident we'll be able to complete these significant infrastructure improvements in a timely, efficient manner."
Beginning the week of July 21, contractor crews working with Long Island American Water will replace, install and connect more than 2.3 miles of pipeline. Work will start at the intersection of Meadow Drive and Broadway in Woodsburgh and end near Tanglewood Drive and Willow Way in Lawrence.
