WHITESTONE, NY, June 8, 2006 -- Richard Cavallaro, chief operating officer, has been appointed president of Slattery Skanska Inc., one of the largest heavy civil construction firms in the New York metropolitan area. He has also been appointed executive vice president of Skanska USA Civil's northeast region. In that role, he'll work closely with other senior management of Skanska USA Civil to further the growth of all of the companies in the Skanska USA Civil family and create new opportunities for the group.
Cavallaro began his employment with the firm as a senior estimator. He has been involved in the early planning of numerous civil projects, including constructibility analyses, procurement of equipment and materials, feasibility and optimization studies, as well as project management and construction.
Peter Mac Kenna, president - Underpinning and Foundation Skanska, has been appointed executive vice president of Skanska USA Civil's southeast region.
In this new role, Mac Kenna will assume responsibility for the day-to-day operations of Tidewater Skanska, Atlantic Skanska and Bayshore Concrete Products. One of his primary initiatives will be to generate growth opportunities for those companies in existing markets as well as new areas through partnerships with other Skanska USA Civil firms and local companies.
He'll still oversee operations of Underpinning and Foundation Skanska.
David Eastwood, President_Tidewater Skanska Group, has been appointed Executive Vice President of Skanska USA Civil's western region. As such, Eastwood is responsible for the companies operating units in that region -- Yeager Skanska and Nielsons Skanska. Those firms specialize in roadway, earth moving and soil remediation projects.
Bob Rose has been appointed President of Atlantic Skanska, the firm's operating unit in the Southeast U.S. The firm is one of the region's largest constructors of water and wastewater treatment plants and other public works projects such as desalination plants, light rail, rail maintenance facilities, pump stations and major pipe work
Andy Ord has been appointed President of Tidewater Skanska. Tidewater Skanska operates in the Mid-Atlantic and southeastern United States. The firm builds infrastructure projects such as bridges, roadway and marine structures. The client list of Tidewater Skanska includes those in private industry, the U.S. Navy, Army Corps of Engineers, numerous state Departments of Transportation and Port Authorities along the Atlantic Coast.
William McGuinness has been appointed Executive Vice President of Skanska USA Civil. He will oversee the development of large projects and work in partnership with Skanska Infrastructure Development.
